Luis Maldonado
I was born in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico in the "Calli" year of 1977. A breed of Durango-Coahuila blood, I was raised in El Paso, TX. I graduated from "La Jeff" (H.S.) and entered El Paso Community College in 1995. I completed the Architecture Program at EPCC and decided to leave "El Chuco" for "La Tusa," and arrived in Tucson in 1998. Attended Pima Community College for a semester before transfering to the University of Arizona where I received a Bachelor's in Spanish Literature. A year later I entered the "Teach for Tucson" Program at the U. of A. where I received a Master's Degree in Teaching and Teaching Education. It was during this program that I began to look into the Calli Ollin Schools as one of my choices and in June of 2003 I joined the COA family. I entered Toltecalli Academy with an open mind and in a matter of days I had found my "Toltec Spirit." Teaching Spanish is my love but teaching Chicano Studies is my passion. Mexica Tiahui! Toltecalli Tiahui!
